A number of stars on ABC’s two top-rating dramas are either leaving the shows or are being replaced, so now you can expect to see a large new cast in both shows. We wonder how it will affect the ratings, but considering they are very successful at the moment, the shows are expected to survive this change of star cast.
Nicollette Sheridan is expected to leave Desperate Housewives by the end of this season. Her departure has been announced both by the show and her own publicist. Her exit is supposed to part of the story line and her departure is part of a creative twist in the story. No one is saying which came first- the twist in the plot or her decision to leave the show. However, the story of Desperate Housewives has made a similar plot leap five years ago.
T.R. Knight and Katherine Heigl from Grey’s Anatomy may also be on their way out from the show that shot them to fame. Reportedly, both stars have made their disappointment with the contract clear in the past and looks like that may be ultimately what is driving them away from the show. One of their co-star, James Pickens Jr., recently let the cat out of the bag to US Weekly about the two’s exit from the show. It is believed that Pickens may not actually have the facts and was simply speculating. The show’s executives have made no announcements with regard to this rumor so far.
