Adam Cook passed Away

Early on Sunday morning, Adam Cook, the older brother of American Idol winner David Cook, lost his decade-long battle with brain cancer at the age of thirty-six. Adam Cook died in Terre Haute, Indiana after eleven years fighting brain cancer, during which the disease spread to his spine. David made the announcement Sunday at the 12th Annual Race for Hope in Washington, DC. David’s team raised over $97,000 for cancer research. I actually lost my brother yesterday [sic] to a brain tumor, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now, Cook said at the benefit for brain cancer research.
adam-cook-0505 It really struck me when I heard about the news of Cook’s brother, David Archuleta, a competitor and runner-up to David Cook in the seventh season of American Idol, said. I know they had been struggling with it for a while, so my heart really goes out to them. It’s so admirable the way he’s handling it though, and it’s amazing to see him there as an example for millions of other people who have also been affected the same way he and his family have. He continues on to say that he hopes Cook will get through this difficult time. I’ll be keeping him in my thoughts and prayers, and hope the Cook family stays strong, he said.
