Sean Penn wanted to have Anne Coulter in the movie Fair Game but she refused to take the offer. Fair Game is a movie about the Valerie Plame- Wilson/ CIA agent whose cover was blown by the columnist Robert Novak. It is a left leaning film. Naomi Watts is starring as Plame and is perfect for the role. In the movie, Sean Penn plays Joseph Wilson who is Plame’s underemployed, former Ambassador, husband. It is a politically sensitive movie and some say Sean Penn may not be the right person to play Joe Wilson.
Sean Penn wanted to cast Anne Coulter as herself in the movie. He thought he could convince her to be in the movie and take the part of screaming at his character. He tried really hard but Anne didn’t get lured into this role, which some say is a good move as she probably would be made to look foolish. Maybe she dislikes Sean Penn too much to even yell at him.
The movie is directed by Doug Liman, the director of Mr. and Mrs. Smith and Jumper and the script is adapted from the book written by Plume. Anne’s refusal to play this role raises questions as to why she did so. She hates Sean Penn and she also hates the character Joseph Wilson. It would have been a piece of cake for her. The role would have gone very well with her personality. She is known for having strong opinions and would have easily pulled it off.
