Ashton Kutcher won against CNN by having a million followers first on Twitter
In a race, that CNN not only promoted on the internet but on the TV as well, Ashton Kutcher won by having a million followers on Twitter. Ashton was joined in his celebration by his wife Demi Moore. Soleil Moon Frye and P. Diddy joined him on the phone too.
Ashton Kutcher became the first person on Twitter to have a million followers and hence beat his rival CNN Breaking News, shortly after 11 p. m. Pacific Time. CNN lost by less than 1200 followers.
Till 10 p. m. the actor was in the lead after which CNN took the top spot. This was when Ashton Tweeted saying, “Why R they pushing so hard if this doesn’t mean anything? It’s a changing of the guard. The old way the new way.” His followers supported him saying CNN were using the live TV to seek more followers.
I was beginning to think this is a waste of time when Ashton announced he would buy 10,000 mosquito nets if he won. Well atleast something good came out of this dumb game. He repeated the pledge on Thursday too saying, “I’m calling to have a check made out for $100,000 to the Malaria No More Fund.”
Ashton was his usual crazy self saying, “Where’s the champagne, where’s the champagne. We’ve gotta pop the cork on this folks,” just before he reached the million mark and “Tell me this isn’t better than watching TV, We get to participate in the entertainment. I feel like I’m directing an episode of punk’d”
