After weeks of speculation, petitions and debates if Dakota Fanning would be a perfect fit to join the cast of “New Moon”, Summit Entertainment has announced that Fanning will indeed be playing a vampire on the 2nd film of the Twilight Saga.
The 15-year-old actress will play Jane, a member of the evil Volturi coven of vampires. In the Meyer books, Jane has the power to manipulate a person’s mind, making them believe they are in excruciating pain.
At the premiere of Dakota’s latest movie “Push,” Entertainment Weekly asked her about the New Moon role, wherein she responded “I am a very big fan of the books. I read them all and Jane is an interesting part.”
Filming of ‘New Moon’ will start at end of March in Vancouver. It will be released in theaters in November. The film will be directed by Chris Weitz.
