TV personality Ellen DeGeneres and her partner will undergo fertility treatment to start their own family, according to U.S. tabloid reports.
DeGeneres married actress Portia de Rossi in august last year and are looking forward to settling down and having a family of their own.
DeGeneres realizes that this decision is not something hey can take lightly. “It’s a lot of work and we recognize that… but we know how much that adds to life. “
“If they [the kids] would be as pretty as Brad and Angelina’s kids, we might,” she joked.
Recently DeGeneres had revealed that they were looking to shy away from the spotlight and live a quiet life on a farm after her U.S. talk show contract ends in 2010.
“There are times when I think I’d be really selfish not to adopt a child. It’d be great to spend our lives with somebody, a little child that really needs a home,” said De Rossi – in an interview in 2007 – who is also very keen on having kids.
Star magazine claims that the couple are planning to have a biological child and that De Rossi will soon undergo vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment.
A source said, “They would love a boy. But would truly be happy with any healthy baby.”
“(de Rossi) is prepared to go through it (IVF) 10 times if she has to. Whatever it takes to get pregnant, she’ll do it. She’s been changing her eating habits. Her goal is to gain a few pounds before they start the IVF process.”
“Ellen and Portia are mad about each other. And having a child together will only strengthen their bond.”
