The Los Angeles County coroner’s office completed the autopsy on Michael Jackson’s body. It has been released to a mortuary. His funeral will be organized by his family members.
His autopsy reports will take around six weeks. “The truth is still to be told” said Joe Jackson. Michael Jackson, who was fifty years old, went into a cardiac arrest on Thursday. Dr. Conrad Murray has been the focus of the investigation.
“It may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death,” said an LAPD spokeswoman.
Jackson was pronounced dead at the University of California, Los Angeles, Medical Center, at 2.26 p.m.
“We know [Jackson] was taking some prescription medication,” said Craig Harvey who spoke for the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. The probe also is to find out the kind of drugs Jackson used.
Murray is licensed in California, Nevada and Texas, and has an office in Houston. Michael was under Murray’s treatment for over three years.
This June 15, Murray dispatched a letter to his patients informing them about closing up his private practice. Murray hasn’t appeared to the press to make any comment.
“I am deeply saddened to leave you at this point, but please know my absence is not permanent,” his letter states. “In my absence, I will continue to manage the practice, and be involved as much as possible but from a distance.” He also adds, “My absence is not permanent.”
