Nick Cannon whisked his wife Mariah Carey to the luxurious Barbados Islands for a romantic vacation to celebrate her 40th birthday.
On her birthday, Nick threw a private 11 people party at Barbados’ ritzy Wispers on the Bay restaurant. The restaurant was filled with hundreds of pink and lavender-hued balloons especially for the birthday party on Nick’s request.
“Because she’s been working extremely hard for the past few months recording new music for the album, it was important to Nick that the trip be a very relaxing one, where Mariah and her friends could truly enjoy themselves,” says a source, noting Cannon wanted to plan “the most romantic and beautiful vacation possible” to celebrate Carey’s 40th “anniversary.” The nearly four-hour fete, “We watched them stroll down to the beach for a romantic walk,” says a waiter from the restaurant. “They were very playful and affectionate the entire time … and very down to earth and extremely gracious to all of the staff.”
The couple had flown into the island on a private jet and rented a home on the island during their stay. On the day before the birthday, they were spotted affectionately frolicking on the beach in Barbados.
For Mariah, the party didn’t end when the couple left for Miami the following day. Nick threw another birthday party for her, this time at the Coconut Grove in Florida. 
One must admit, having a husband over 10 years younger than yourself does add a bit of spark and excitement to a relationship.
