Mel Gibson’s wife files for divorce
Mel Gibson’s wife Robyn filed the d
ivorce papers in California last week. She is seeking legal custody of their only minor son. Since they did not have a pre- nuptial agreement, the assets will be divided between them almost equally. When asked about this with their representative, the message from Gibson was, “Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.”
They were married for 28 years and have 7 children. Tom, who turns 10 today, is their only minor child. Roby has asked for spousal custody and attorney’s fees. She has said that irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. Mel Gibson who is 53, has assets worth $900 million.
Robyn has hired Laura Wasser, who recently was involved the Britney- Federline split, as her attorney. About their whereabouts, a source said that, “Mel is on family vacation with his entire family and their friends. His sons are there with their girlfriends, his pregnant daughter is there – the whole family is there.”
The gossip columns have seen this coming. He must have been a difficult person to live with, with all his womanizing and alcoholism. I guess the last blow was when his pictures with his mistress started coming out. It wasn’t easy for him to deny it and well for sticking by him for so long Robyn deserves more respect than that. She definitely deserves the $450 million that’s coming her way.
