An amazing performance was given by Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani on Dancint With The Stars but soon after was facing a lot of questions about her dancing experience. She reportedly told Access Hollywood that she wasn’t the only person who came there with dancing experience. She has experience in ballet and was a Dalla Cowboys cheerleader. This was first brought up for debate by the dancing pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. He told TV Guide that she had unfair advantage over the others before the Week 2 of the series.

Even Maksim’s dancing partner Denise Richards said she cant be expected to dance next to Melissa with that kind of experience. But Tony Dovolani, in spite of being Maksim’s friend, took Melissa’s side and asked him, “How about Mel?” referring to former Spice Girl Mel B, Maksim’s partner in Season 5.

Melissa insists that her success is majorly due to the hard work she put in, practicing with Tony Donolani than her experience. “There have definitely been people that have more [experience] than me. But it’s not benefiting me at all, believe me. It’s not like we practice for a day and have six off,” said Rycroft.

For the last two weeks, the dancing couple has been earning very good points from the judges. First week it was 23 out of 30 and the second week it was 26 out of 30.

Despite no dancing experience, Sex and the City heartthrob, Gilles Marini and his partner Cheryl Burke have been earning the high score so far. At the end of the debate, Maksim seemed to agree it all depended on the audience and what they wanted to see.
