Miley Cyrus got her first tattoo — “Just Breathe” on her ribcage and that was around December 2009 when she was 17. after that, she’s added 7 more! Some are big, some are small, and she claims every piece of ink on her body has deep meaning.
The performer has spoken openly about couple of her pieces of ink, and she proudly showed off her newest tattoo on Twitter this weekend.
December 2009: “Just Breathe” was Miley’s first tattoo, scrawled on her ribcage.
Early 2010: “Love” came next. The word is printed on all caps on the inside of of her ear. She’s said: “I have ‘Love’ right here to block out all the crap that everyone throws into your ears…I don’t really care about it. [You’re] only supposed to hear the things coming from the people that genuinely love you.”
September 2010 and December 2010: Miley’s 3rd tat was the outline of a heart on her right pinkie finger.
February 2011: The singer added her biggest tattoo design to date in early 2011, a dream catcher on her right side. A friend said in an interview that Miley got the ink with 4 feathers to symbolize her siblings, and the “dream catcher is to protect them.”
May 2011: She had an anchor tattoo on the outside of her right wrist and this was done by renowned tattoo artist Fabio Satori.
July 2011: The starlet showed off her latest tattoo on Twitter this weekend, a tiny equal sign on the inside of her right ring finger. Miley’s been very vocal concerning her support of same sex marriage (at least on Twitter), and she published “All LOVE is equal” as the caption to the picture of her tat.
