Rihanna was supposed to have hosted her 21st birthday party in the city of New York on Feb 20. The party had been in the making for more than a month. It was meant to have a carnival theme with a number of side attractions. Ciroc vodka had almost been signed as the official sponsor of the birthday bash. However, following her hospitalization after a domestic dispute with Chris Brown, the birthday party plan stands cancelled.
Chris and Rihanna are said to have a huge fight on their way back from a party. Apparently, Chris and Rihanna had a huge argument en route and Chris beat up Rihanna and left her in his rented car on the side of the road before leaving on foot with the keys of the car. Rihanna put a 911 call and was rescued by police officers who took her to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.
Rihanna not only cancelled her birthday party, but also did not make it to the Grammy Awards where she was supposed to have given a performance. She has also postponed her sold-out concert scheduled for Friday in Kuala Lumpur. In light of the recent occurrences, none of the sponsors or organizers are showing anything but sympathy for her.
On the other hand, Chris Brown turned himself in at the LAPD Wilshire Police Station and was booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He has been released on a $5000 bail. He is currently holed up in a West Hollywood hotel.
