He made a belated admission to his wife about the love child with Hunter, fearing his ex- lover will go public with the news.
John Edward had admitted having an affair with Rielle Hunter last august, around the same time as the Democratic National Convention. But he had denied having fathered her child, one year old Frances Quinn, despite evidence to the contrary. One of his campaign workers claims to be the dad but has almost entirely gone out of news. Rielle Hunter has refused DNA testing.
Turns out Rielle got really upset over Johns wife Elizabeth’s book, titled Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life’s Adversities, which is to be released in May.
A source said, “Rielle became extremely edgy , and John’s afraid she might go public before Elizabeth’s book comes out so she can put her story out first.”
“These concerns led to John sitting down with [Elizabeth Edwards] and admitting being the baby’s father. This is something Rielle had been pushing John to do for a long, long time because he initially told Elizabeth he was not the father.
“The last thing John wants is for Rielle to go public before Elizabeth’s book comes out, make headlines and trigger a nasty battle between the two.”
There is also a rumor that Elizabeth has kicked him out of the house last year after hearing about his affair, though not confirmed.
