Naomi Watts – who recently gave birth to a gorgeous baby boy – says it’s easier to be a mom the second time around, though she did look sleep deprived.
“ no sleep – literally, because I’m feeding all through the night,” the actress, who gave birth to a son, Samuel, who weighed a healthy 7lb 13oz, in December says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday. “He’s still eating every three to four hours.”
When asked how she is able to stay alert and focused, Watts, who is promoting her new movie, The International, said, “Oh, I’m not! I’m really never grounded these days. I feel like I’m always five steps behind.”
To top it all, having a newborn and a toddler can not only complicate matters but also can test your level of endurance. Watts and boyfriend Liev Schreiber also have a son – one-year-old Alexander – who is also called Sasha. “What happens with the sleep deprivation your toddler regresses a little bit,” says Watts. “He knows that every time that Sammy cries he’s getting fed. He’s like, ‘Hey, what about me. Give me a bottle.’ ”

When questioned about how Schreiber contributes to the parenting, Watts praises him as “a very hands on Dad. He does Sasha in the night, but he can’t do Sammy because I’m breast-feeding.”
Watt said that her boyfriend, Schreiber, had made thoughts of getting even closer to the kids. “With the first , he was like, ‘I want the man boob,’ ” says Watts. “You can get those things. You can attach them and they feed through a tube. It’s to create the bonding experience.”
