Victoria Principal In Legal Battle for Pulling a Gun on her Maid
Victoria Principal is currently entangled in a legal battle with a former housekeeper. The story has all the makings of a full length action feature- it features a gun, a sick dog and lies.
While the former ‘Dallas’ star is suing her housekeeper for several claims including trespass, civil extortion and animal cruelty, the housekeeper, Maribel Banegas, is suing Principal for false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault.
It is clear that a trouble starting brewing when Benegas returned after walking Principal’s pet dog. But, the stories from both parties vary significantly. Benegas claims that Principal lost her top because she took very long on the walk and berated her. When she asked for her payment, Principal pulled a gun. She claims that she locked herself in a room and called 911 after Principal pointed the gun at her.
Principal, on the other hand, narrates a very different story. She hired Banegas from a temp agency and the woman was only employed with her for three days. Banegas took her dog on Dec. 26, and disappeared for an hour, although Principal repeatedly called Banegas to return the pet immediately. Principal accuses Banegas of dragging the pooch by its leash into her Malibu home “so roughly that the dog was coughing and wheezing and its eyes were bulging,” according to the lawsuit, which says the dog suffered an injured back.
Banegas then allegedly “pounded violently on the kitchen counters while yelling … ‘Give me money … Give me my money’ ” before Principal asked her several times to leave, the lawsuit says. This is when Principal pulled out her gun, “out of concern for her safety” and because she “was in fear for [her] life.”
